Derren Brown: Infamous

And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are…

THEATRE: Men In The Cities | Royal Court Theatre | 25-26 Jul
Ahead of its run at the Edinburgh Fringe, Chris Goode’s new play ‘Men In The Cities’ appears at the Royal Court Theatre for two nights. Written and performed by Goode, the play shows snapshots of the lives of dozens of men, framed by the violent deaths of two: the apparently inexplicable suicide of a young gay man and the murder of soldier Lee Rigby in May last year. Details and tickets here.

OPERA: Moses Und Aron | Royal Opera House | 25-26 Jul
Arnold Schoenberg’s unfinished masterpiece is performed by the Welsh National Opera on a two night run, the first project of a three year collaboration between the WNO and the Royal Opera House. Directed by Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito, it stars acclaimed bass John Tomlinson as Moses. Details and tickets here.

MAGIC: Derren Brown: Infamous | Hammersmith Apollo | 25-27 Jul (pictured)
Rounding off a 140 date UK tour, illusionist Derren Brown’s latest show, ‘Infamous’, rolls back into London, where it began at the Palace Theatre in the West End last summer. Now taking the Hammersmith Apollo for three nights, Brown says that this is his most “personal” show to date. Details and tickets here.
