TW’s tipped events TODAY IN LONDON feature the stellar Lesley Sharp, kids’ laureates Jacqueline Wilson and Malorie Blackman, and a chance to watch ‘The Goonies’ on a roof…
FESTIVAL: Imagine Children’s Festival, Southbank Centre, 10-23 Feb
This year-on-year bean feast finds the kids going wild in the aisles of the Southbank Centre, as they’re allowed to take over the ticket office, tannoy and backstage production tasks. That, and take part in a ton of fun activities and creative learning workshops; ogle lots of live performance; and mingle with/quiz the likes of Jacqueline Wilson, Malorie Blackman and Quentin Blake. Details and tickets here.
FILM: Rooftop Film Club presents… Feel Good Feb, Kensington Roof Gardens, 10-12 Feb
The RFC presents a series of high-rise film screenings to ease any winter blues. Tickets entitle movie-goers to one snack, one drink, and one seat for ‘The Goonies’, ‘Legally Blonde’, ‘About Time’, ‘Stand By Me’, and a whole host of other endorphin-boosting movies. And ‘Gravity’. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: A Taste Of Honey, National Theatre, 10 Feb – 11 May (pictured)
Scripted by a teenage Shelagh Delaney in 1959, this keen-eyed, anti-archetypal ‘kitchen sink’ drama stars Lesley Sharp as a working-class Salford woman who leaves daughter Jo for her car salesman-lover. Details and tickets here.
