The Cat In The Cupboard

TW’s tipped events TODAY IN LONDON feature off-kilter comedian Tim Key, a cocktail bar cult, and a kids’ play about a fat cat…

COMEDY: Tim Key – Single White Slut, Arcola Tent, 10-29 Mar
Pitching up at the Arcola Tent post-a sold-out run at Soho Theatre, single white weirdo Tim Key recites the secrets of his love life in verse, lighting on themes like owls and fairies, and mainly doing basic talking. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE: The Illumination, Lumiere, 10 Mar – 5 Apr
Specialists in immersive theatre Velvet Loop, masquerading for the purposes of this show as a religious cult called the Scholars Of The Last Torch, take over a Clapton cocktail bar to offer salvation to dissatisfied souls. Though the group gives off a front of unity, whispers on its fringes tell a different story. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE: Little Angel Firsts Festival, Little Angel Theatre, 10-23 Mar
The Little Angel Theatre presents a mini festival of firsts-for-kids, giving its blessing to fresh plays like ‘Cell’, the tale of one man (and his fish)’s trip of a lifetime following a diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease, or Tiny Light’s ‘The Cat In The Cupboard’ (pictured), the extraordinary story of a cat that won’t stop eating, and growing. Details and tickets here.
