And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are….
COMEDY: New Horizon’s Comedy Benefit w/ Dara O’Briain + Ed Byrne + Hal Cruttenden + Jon Snow, Shaw Theatre | 2 Jun
Host Ed Byrne and (his straight man, I’m guessing) Jon Snow balance this gala’s lite stand-up line-up with its serious cause, that of homeless and vulnerable young Londoners, as supported by the charity New Horizon. Ed N Jon will be riffing in between sets by the likes of Dara O’Briain and Hal Cruttenden. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Smoke Fairies | XOYO | 2 Jun
Jack White’s Chichester-bred girl-girl pairing of choice, Smoke Fairies, mix all kinds of dark and light dream-pop shades on their self-titled latest LP. Tonight they recreate its black magic, live, at XOYO. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: The Table | JW3 | 2 Jun
Nonconformist theatre co Blind Summit’s touring table-top production, which was judged “ingenious” by our sister site ThreeWeeks, counts down the last 12 hours in the life of a somersaulting cotton-and-cardboard puppet grouch named Moses, on a table. Details and tickets here.
