Comedy Theatre
Monday 28 October 2013 in London
By TW Editorial | Published on Tuesday 22 October 2013
TODAY IN LONDON it’s comedy, comedy, comedy (and zombies); and packaged with that, the likes of Claudia O’Doherty, Jamie Demetriou, and practically the entire cast of ‘Stand Up For The Week’. All feature in the following TW-recommended events…
COMEDY: The Scary Halloween Show, The Invisible Dot, 28-31 Oct
A spooky October treat by a tricksy swarm of comic kooks and spooks, who tonight take the mortal forms of “engaging, twisted and hilarious” character comic Jamie Demetriou (pictured), 2012 Edinburgh Fringe’s Best Newcomer John Kearns, outré clever-clogs Claudia O’Doherty, and sketch peers The Pin and Sheeps. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Zombie Science Double Bill, Etcetera Theatre, 28-29 Oct
The original spoof seminar on ‘the real science behind the undead’ is back, nicely in time for the Halloween season, as ‘Theoretical Zombiologist’ Doctor Austin explains what’d happen in the event of a ‘World War Z’-type apocalypse, illustrating his points with a live display and relevant visual aids. This twice-as-frightful two-parter also consists of an additional talk on the inner workings of the zombie brain. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Laughing Boy Comedy Club feat Josh Widdicombe/Paul Chowdhry/Simon Evans/Seann Walsh/Angela Barnes, Herman Ze German, 28 Oct
The Laughing Boy crams a whole lot of large-name comics into Herman Ze German’s intimate Old Compton St bolt hole, tonight offering a £5 all-in round of practice ‘Stand Up For The Week’ routines by the show’s new host Paul Chowdhry plus regulars Josh Widdicombe, Simon Evans, Seann Walsh and relative newbie Angela Barnes. Details and tickets here.
