There are few things as British as Wimbledon. Queuing. Eating strawberries and cream. Waiting for rain to pass. Shouting the name of a person because they are British. Being shushed for shouting. Packed full of work by emerging and established artists across a variety of media,The Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition has been held every year since 1769, and they’re not about to stop now. Imagine if they just took a year off suddenly. For one thing we’d have to work out what the largest open submission exhibition in the world was, because currently this is it. Details here.
