THIS NEW YEAR IN LONDON we have great NYE parties in abundance, plus a comedic option thats Twice As Nice, one of the first theatrical productions to commemorate the incoming 100th anniversary of WW1, and some work in progress from Mr Jupp.

CLUB NIGHT: Bruk Out, Big Chill House, 31 Dec
The Bruk Out crew usher in 2014 at The Big Chill House with the help of two of UK garage’s big hitters, Zed Bias and Wookie. The House will be transformed into a tropical playground, as beat obsessives Jus Now and a ten-piece Brazilian drum troupe also feature on the line-up alongside Bruk Out residents Nasty McQuaid and Mangno. Tickets are £20, more info here.

CLUB NIGHT: Heavy Disco Meets Eat The Beat, The Star Of Kings, 31 Dec
Heavy Disco Meets Eat The Beat will offer an intimate house party vibe at The Star Of Kings in King Cross. If you are into real house and disco, lap it up on two floors at this mid-size venue. Some real musical connoisseurs are on board, including West London’s original Ballistic Brother Ashley Beedle, plus Balearic Mike and Sean Johnston from ALFOS. Tickets are £20, more info here.

CLUB NIGHT: NYE House Party, The Social, 31 Dec
The Social’s NYE event will be hosted by The Ragga Twins, who will create a house party vibe at this rather good venue just off Oxford Street. They’ll be joined by Rob Pursey of the Hip Hop Karaoke club nights and the Heavenly Jukebox DJs, Found A Cure and Mr Midnight. Tickets are £15, more info here.

CLUB NIGHT: Holic, Café 1001, 31 Dec
US Detroit techno visionary Dan Curtin and Berlin’s Panorama Bar resident Oliver Deutschmann land feet first on Brick Lane for Holic’s NYE bash, with Tomoki Tamura and many others. And if you’re looking for more party for your pound, this one goes on until 10am on News Year’s Day. Info here.

CLUB NIGHT: Jamais Vu Party at a secret Shoreditch location, 31 Dec
Stuck looking for a bit of drum n bass? Then look no further than the Jamais Vu NYE party, with Fabio, Bailey, Randall and Jumping Jack Frost. It’s a great line-up, all going down at an as-yet-to-be-revealed East London location. For more info on the £20 tickets, click here.

COMEDY: Twice As Nice Masquerade Comedy Ball, The Grove Bar, 31 Dec
If you fancy laughing more than clubbing this New Years Eve, then why not join the Twice As Nice team in Hammersmith with their comedic friends Christian Reilly, Joey Page, Jenny Collier, Sam Carrington and MC Sam Deards. Some food is thrown into the equation with the £35 ticket, and just so you don’t miss out on the dancing completely, there’ll be a DJ on hand once the comics have stopped joking. Info here.

COMEDY: Miles Jupp Work In Progress, The Invisible Dot, 5 Jan (pictured)
Once the NYE festivities have died down, why not get the year going with a little sneak preview of the show TW favourite (and ‘Rev’ star and panel show regular) Miles Jupp will be touring in 2014. His early-in-the-year test run is at the Invisible Dot.

THEATRE: The Lost Boy, Finborough Theatre, 31 Dec – 11 Jan
With 2014’s cultural calendar set to feature quite a few pieces commemorating the hundred years that have passed since the start of the First World War, this production gets in early. A new musical by long time Finborough associate Phil Willmott, ‘Lost Boy’ is “a dark sequel to Peter Pan reuniting J. M. Barrie’s characters as young adults on the eve of the First World War”. Catch it at the Finborough up to 11 Jan, when the production moves to the Charing Cross Theatre through to 15 Feb. Tickets here.
