And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are….
COMEDY: Hal Cruttenden – Tough Luvvie, Bloomsbury Theatre, 10 May
The brilliantly camp and catty Hal Cruttenden has a straight, manly side too you know, and he wants to show that off tonight. Football, Facebook, food, no topic is too virile. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: Bakersfield Mist, Duchess Theatre, 10 May – 30 Aug (pictured)
One of Hollywood’s all-time greats, Kathleen Turner, stars as Maude, a middle-aged bartender who finds a ‘real’ Jackson Pollock painting (or is it?) in a thrift shop, in LA writer Stephen Sachs’ new play. Ian McDiarmid acts opposite KT as the world-class art connoisseur charged with authenticating the oil-on-canvas. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: De Profundis, Leicester Square Theatre, 10 May – 8 Jun
Winner of the LST’s New Musical Project, this new dramatisation by Brit playwright-composer Paul Dale Vickers is inspired by the note Oscar Wilde famously wrote to his lover, Bosie, from Reading Prison. Details and tickets here.
