By TW Editorial | Published on Saturday 15 March 2014
TODAY IN LONDON, TW’s tipped events feature the fiery Ms Ruby Wax, bowling ‘The Big Lebowski’-style, and an anti-‘Gravity’ space skit…
COMEDY: Ruby Wax – A Sane New World, Blackheath Halls, 22 Mar
Drawing, as in past shows, on her experiences of living with depression, Ruby Wax’s edu-taining ‘Sane New World’ finds her dissecting (not literally) the human brain and psyche, and asking how we can rewire our thinking and find calm. Details and tickets here.
EVENT: Big Lebowski Party, Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, 22 Mar
The Bloomsbury shows big love for the Coen Brothers’ psychedelic ten-pin film of 1998, paying its respects to The Dude and his crew with themed DJ sets, a live rep by Americana blues bands, white russians on tap, and an optional fancy dress contest. And the bowling, of course, with a side of other Coen Bros’ flicks, like ‘True Grit’ and ‘No Country For Old Men’ showing in-house at the Bloomo’s cinema. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: Sprint 2014 – This Is The Moon, That Is The Earth (We Are Here, We Are Here), Camden People’s Theatre, 22 Mar
An Ovalhouse co-production playing as part of this year’s Sprint theatre festival, Gameshow’s ‘This Is The Moon…’ finds a pair of wannabe astronauts taking a haphazard quest into deep space. They’ll play games, play for laughs, and dance around to rock n roll. Details and tickets here.
