And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are…
MUSIC: High Rise | various venues | 6 Sep
The Boxfresh-sponsored High Rise takes place on a trio of East London roof terraces today, soundtracking the city skyline both pre and post-sunset. The headliners at each venue are Waze & Odyssey atop Hewett Street’s Rockwell House, Lapalux at the Dalston Roof Park, and Alpines up of the roof of Netil House. Details and tickets here.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Horst – Photographer Of Style | V&A Museum | 6 Sep – 4 Jan (pictured)
One of the pre-eminent fashion and portrait photographers of the 20th century, Horst P Horst’s career spanned six decades – his last professional work appearing in Vogue’s 75th anniversary issue in 1991, when he was 85 years old. As well as thousands of prints, this exhibition displays drawings, notebooks, scrapbooks and letters carefully archived by the man himself while still alive. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Stewart Lee | Union Chapel | 6 Sep
The Edinburgh Fringe is well and truly over now, a point proven by the billing of this event as a ‘Post-Fringe Gala Bash’. Headlining the whole shebang will be Mr Stewart Lee, with a supporting cast of other Fringe comedy highlights. Details and tickets here.
