Comedy Club 4 Kids

And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

COMEDY: Comedy Club 4 Kids w/ Danny Buckler + Nick Doody | Soho Theatre | 1 Feb (pictured)
Theatrical entertainer Danny Buckler and topical comic Nick Doody provide the LOLs 4 the kids in this toned-down matinee show for all ages, which is MC’d by one of TW London’s most favourites; the one, the only, the podcast-starring Tiernan Douieb. Details and tickets here.

FILM: Only Lovers Left Alive / Finding Vivian Maier / A Prophet | Pillow Cinema, Former Shoreditch Underground Station | 1 Feb
It’s the last day to take advantage of the latest in well-padded film fads, as the team at Pillow Cinema screen (and this isn’t a package deal) a nice array of movies, from Tilda Swinton’s vampiric ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’, John Maloof and Charlie Siskel’s acclaimed film in search of photographer Vivian Maier, and French prison thriller circa 2009 ‘A Prophet’. Details and tickets here.

FILM: Katharine Hepburn Season | BFI | 1-14 Feb
The BFI dedicates an aptly extensive season to the many great cinematic doings of Hollywood iconoclast Katharine Hepburn. It starts, as chronology dictates, with a showing of KH’s first film, director George Cukor’s 1932 drama ‘A Bill Of Divorcement’, in which she stars as Sidney, a “sharp, modern girl facing down a complex past”. Details and tickets here.
