The Immortal Hour

And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are…

FILM: Outdoor Cinema presents… Casablanca | Hampton Court Palace | 10 Aug
Why not enrich your real-life hot city night with the steamy on-screen scenery in Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart’s film classic ‘Casablanca’, which is showing neath the moon and barely-visible LDN starscape tonight via Luna Cinema. And please note that a ticket to the screening does NOT – I said NOT – grant admission to the palace. Details and tickets here.

MUSIC: Penguin Cafe | Roundhouse | 10 Aug
Carrying on the legacy of the new-age chamber/jazz ensemble Penguin Cafe Orchestra, which was led by his late dad Simon Jeffes, musician Arthur Jeffes joins with his band to play tracks off their latest LP, this year’s ‘The Red Book’, and also to re-animate PCO’s greatest hits. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE: The Immortal Hour | Finborough Theatre | 10-26 Aug (pictured)
An airy-fairy fantasy folk “music-drama” first seen in 1914 at the first ever Glasto festival, ‘The Immortal Hour’ features a parade of strange, magical creatures and many a ‘spiritual’ going-on. Details and tickets here.
