And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are….
ART: London Illustration Fair Summer Festival | Hoxton Arches | – 6 Jul
Flying a Tropicana theme this year, with all the timely Brazilian vibes that entails, the London Illustration Fair’s summertime art gala showcases the best in print, design and ‘illo’ from a range of agencies, collectives and independent creatives. Alongside all the exhibitor stands, there’ll be live mural painting and screen printing, a ‘Print Your Own Ice-Cream Monster’ workshop with Hello Print Studio, and Brazilian BBQ. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Descent Funnies w/ Tamar Broadbent + WitTank | Southwark Playhouse | 6 Jul (pictured)
Our favourite Friday night diner, MC-with-the-most Tom Rosenthal, dishes a dollop of Edinburgh-Fringe-first-glimpse goodness, presenting five previews from Tamar Broadbent, Ian Smith, Rosie Holt, Ivo Graham and WitTank. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Rise Of The Idiots w/ Eric Lampaert + Sofie Hagen + Matthew Highton | The Balham Exhibit | 6 Jul
Flipping the ‘Rise Of The Idiots’ script for a ‘Comedians’ Cinema Club’ plot twist; goofy surrealist Eric Lampaert, Danish card Sofie Hagen and self-styled ‘weirdo’ comic Matthew Highton act a live and improvised recreation of Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’. Details and tickets here.
