And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are…
COMEDY: Rise Of The Idiots w/ John Kearns + Eric Lampaert + Sunil Patel | The Exhibit | 7 Sep
This year’s Edinburgh Comedy Award winner John Kearns headlines a typically tip top Rise Of the Idiots line-up, which also features Eric Lampaert and Sunil Patel. Tickets are just £5 in advance (or £7 on the door). That’s a bargain, I tell you. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: The Telescopes | Shacklewell Arms | 7 Sep (pictured)
Long-serving shoegaze outfit The Telescopes will kick off a three month stint of European and US tour dates right here in London tonight, with a headline set at The Shacklewell Arms. The band have said that they “will be dipping into past present future material from beyond the realm”, which I think means there’ll be a glimpse of their long-awaited new album. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Jo Hamilton | Leicester Square Theatre | 7 Sep
Earlier this year Jo Hamilton premiered her ‘Fractal Sparks’ show at Durham Cathedral, a suitably grand audio-visual performance. This one-off performance at the Leicester Square Theatre gives a rare opportunity to see her in a more intimate setting. Details and tickets here.
