THEATRE: The Collector | The Space | 3-14 Mar
Written by Mark Healey and based on the novel by John Fowles, this Lotte Ruth Johnson-directed production follows reclusively entomologist Frederick Clegg and the latest addition to his collection – not an insect but rather art student Miranda Grey. He attempts to keep her in a manner he feels she will enjoy so that he can admire her, she struggles to understand why she is being held against her will in a cellar with no seeming desire for ransom or sex. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE: Lardo | Old Red Lion | 3-29 Mar (pictured)
Lardo dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. When this dream becomes a reality, and he becomes an overnight sensation, his personal life descends into something reminiscent of a wrestling storyline. “The story sees how he copes when he is pushed to his own limit, and how those people he innocently neglected choose to help him, or not, when things get too tough”, says lead actor Daniel Buckley in this TWL interview. Details and tickets here.

VISUAL ART: Mr Elbank – Beard | Somerset House | 5-29 Mar
Beards, eh? There’s everywhere at the moment. Not least at Somerset House, where photographer Mr Elbank is exhibiting over 80 portraits of people and their facial hair. The show comprises Elbank’s ‘#Project60’ collection, created for skin cancer charity Niggles’ Beard Season, plus new and previously unseen works. Details and tickets here.
