And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Ctrl Alt Delamere | Bloomsbury Studio | 15 Jul (pictured)
Top class Irish comedian Neil Delamere is heading back to the Edinburgh Festival this summer after a break of a couple of years, and he’s popping by the Bloomsbury Studio this week for a preview of his new show, from which you can expect much hilarity and Delamere’s customary tall tales. “Includes tips on how to survive a bobsled ride and how to pretend you’re enjoying a trip in an astronaut training centrifuge” says the blurb. How could you turn all that down? Here’s the link.

Friday Night Freaks | Udderbelly Festival | 15 Jul
I would have recommended this for the comperes alone – the utterly brilliant EastEnd Cabaret – but the fact is that the line up of acts joining them is also a thing of wonder – Card Ninja, Carey Marx, Ria Lina and David Mills: it’s a win win win win win situation. For more info on the show and to book tickets, visit the Udderbelly website here.

The Fix | Union Theatre | 13 Jul-6 Aug
Michael Strassen’s acclaimed production of John Dempsey and Dana P Rowe’s 1997 politics-and-mob musical ‘The Fix’ returns as the first show to be staged at Union Theatre’s all new, state of the art home. Expect high production values, dark and brutal comedy, and a timely look at the US political machine. See the venue website here for all the details.
