And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Enough Is Enough | Camden People’s Theatre | 18-19 May
“Hey you. We’re not here to beat around the bush. We’re here to RAGE. We’ve had ENOUGH. Think you’ve heard it all before? Yeah, right. Through song and shamelessly dark humour an all-female band tells the stories that you haven’t heard. Warning: the naked truth in this gritty performance may be disturbing. Do you dare?” A piece of gig theatre telling the stories of real women and children who have been subjected to sexual violence. See this page here for more info.

La Traviata | Jacksons Lane | 18-27 May
Hampstead Garden Opera present their version of Verdi’s opera, setting it in the era of the ‘swinging sixties’, and corresponding backdrop of extravagant parties and political sex scandals: Violetta is a socialite and ‘it-girl’ and Georgio Germont a politician concerned that his son Alfredo’s affair will jeopardise his leadership campaign. See this page here to book tickets.

And back over to CPT now, well, back over to the CPT website: for this takes place off site, at two London estates fighting demolition – Cressingham Gardens and Silchester Estate. Campaigning community theatre group You Should See the Other Guy are at the heart of the London housing struggle, and members include those who have been through homelessness and those who have bene involved with the Focus E15 Campaign. The show uses personal stories to create what’s described as a celebratory musical and “a toolkit for housing resistance”. Accompanied by lots of workshops, see this page here for all the details.
