And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

London Klezmer Quartet | Tara Theatre | 2 Jun (pictured)
You may remember that we’ve lately tipped a number of events that were part of Tara Theatre’s ‘I’ll Say It Again!’ season of work by women artists staged in celebration of the centenary of women’s suffrage in the UK. Sadly, for all good things come to an end, I think this might be the last of them: a concert from London Klezmer Quartet, which was formed in 2009 by a group of klezmer specialists keen to explore the almost-lost wedding music tradition of Jewish eastern Europe, and has played all over the world since then. See this page here for more.

Rahul Kohli: Newcastle Brown Tales: Part II, Death Around the Corner | Museum Of Comedy | 2 Jun
Well, we very much enjoyed Rahul Kohli’s first lot of Newcastle Brown Tales, not least our reviewer at the old edfringe who saw that show in 2016 and pronounced its creator to be “smart, engaging and funny”. So, all things considered, why wouldn’t we be prepared to queue up for another instalment? Expect new stories to include: Spekky Rizwan Goes To Jail, How Rahul communicated with the dead, and how he unwittingly befriended a convicted paedophile. Info here.

Offside | Queen’s Park Rangers FC | 1-3 Jun
“It is 1892. It is 1921. It is 2018. Four women from across the centuries live, breathe, and play football. Whilst each of them face very different obstacles, the possibility that the beautiful game will change their futures – and the world – is tantalisingly close.” This very highly acclaimed piece written by Sabrina Mahfouz and Hollie McNish makes its way to a football club near you.
