Three To See on 4 Aug: Out Of Options, Making Waves – A Song Cycle, Not I

And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Out Of Options | The Bunker Theatre | 4-5 Aug
This is a trilogy of three separate works which follow the lives of two boys who are becoming men, and the tragedy and loss that affects them as they grow up in a world full of brutality, inanity, protest, and love. Not sure quite what genre this would fall into, but I think I would call it “theatrical dance”: expect something energetic and moving. See this page here for info.

Making Waves – A Song Cycle | Hen & Chickens | 4-7 Aug
Our latest pick from the ongoing and lovely Camden Fringe is this, a new song cycle that its creators claim everyone can relate to, because it’s a theatrical version of life which aims to express the thoughts and feelings of ordinary people. Promises to “pull at your heart-strings and make you laugh ’til you cry”, so that sounds nice. Click here for more.

Not I (Preview) | Battersea Arts Centre | 4-5 Aug (pictured)
Yep, this is a preview, but it’s the sort of preview you will absolutely be happy to see because it’s tried and tested material – Samuel Beckett’s short play – but performed by the excellent Jess Thom – who I am sure you will remember from the award-winning ‘Backstage In Biscuit Land’ – in a theatrical offering that explores neurodiversity. See the venue website here for details.
