And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Women and War Festival | So And So Arts Club | 4-31 Jul
Over the coming month, So And So Arts Club hosts a wide range of performances and events under the banner of the Women And War Festival. I especially fancy ‘The Marvellous Adventures Of Mary Seacole’ and ‘Rosaura’, a two-woman show based on Calderon’s ‘Life Is A Dream’, but there’s lots of other stuff so don’t just take it from me, take a look at the festival website here and have a look at what’s on offer.

Come To Where I Am From | Ovalhouse | 4 Jul (pictured)
This ongoing national project from Paines Plough, which began back in 2010, is described as a “theatrical tapestry of the UK, woven by writers asking if home is really where the heart is”. Over the last few years more than a hundred playwrights have written and performed short plays about the place they come from, in different locations all over the country. Now it’s the turn of South London, as Ovalhouse hosts pieces by Adam Brace, Miran Hadzic, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm, Vinay Patel, Sandra Townsend and Roy Williams. See this page here for more info.

A Year From Now | Tristan Bates Theatre | 4-9 Jul
This sounds pretty intriguing, a visual and verbatim piece giving an insight at what a range of people of all ages expect from their immediate futures, and looking at how we use the time we have. Where do you think you will be a year from now? I think I’ll probably be here, writing Three To See tips for TW London. I bet this show offers way more interesting scenarios than that. Head this way for more info and to book tickets.
