And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Bec Hill – Bec Isn’t Doing A Show This Year| Phoenix Fringe | 7 Aug
Hurrah! It’s Phoenix Fringe, which is great news for those of you who can’t go to that other Fringe, up there up north. The title is a bit misleading I suppose, because here she is, performing a show, but it’s only once, and it’s a work-in-progress for 2017. Don’t be put off by that, she’d be brilliantly entertaining if she stood there and read the phone book. One of our all-time faves. See this page here for info.

Dave Hill – The Trouble With Harry | Aces & Eights | 1-7 Aug
Hurrah, and of course it’s also Camden Fringe, which is more great news for the myriad people out there who don’t care what’s going on in the Scottish capital this month. And today’s pick (which I stupidly got mixed up about and am recommending on its last night) from their sumptuous cultural spread is the very excellent Dave Hill, whose CV reads like a list of credits on US TV, radio and other media, because it is a list of credits on US TV, radio and other media. Head this way for details.

Tom Goodliffe Is Full Of Beans | Camden Comedy Club | 7 + 28 Aug
Oh, no, I accidentally picked yet another thing from Camden Fringe. And worse, it’s the aforetipped Bec Hill’s performance partner in kid-show crime Tom Goodliffe. But you know, it’s not my fault if Camden Fringe and Phoenix Fringe are conspiring to put on all the best stuff in London this month. Anyway, Mr Goodliffe is a highly talented and delightful stage presence, and you won’t regret seeing this show, which is about coffee. Yes, coffee. Who doesn’t like coffee? All you need to know is right about here.
