Three To See on 9 Aug: Dangling, A Lost Art, Re-Production
By TW Editorial | Published on Wednesday 2 August 2017
And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…
Dangling | Southwark Playhouse | 9-26 Aug (pictured)
This sounds quite dark, but that’s kind of necessary when you’re dealing with the kind of significant themes this play addresses. It’s about two girls, one who has gone missing, another who is being driven to despair, and explores themes of sexual and domestic abuse. For more information and to book, see the venue website here.
A Lost Art | The Bunker Theatre | 9-12 Aug
“Grab a pen and glimpse into a personal world of love and loss through the Lost Art of letters. Three dancers and a beautiful soundtrack will remind you of the beauty of the handwritten word. We can’t wait for you to come and add a letter to our collection.” Well, I’m seduced by that invitation, aren’t you? Click here for more.
Re: Production | Etcetera Theatre | 9-13 Aug
I think a lot of contemporary women feel pretty sure that “having it all” is a myth, especially when the men can’t/won’t pull their weight. But my angry ranting aside, here’s a show about whether or not you might actually want it all. A scientist on the cusp of a new IVF discovery faces difficult decisions regarding her own fertility in this show that explores parenthood and where self-worth is found, presented by the acclaimed White Slate Theatre. Another part of Camden Fringe, head this way for details.
