And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

The Fall | Finborough Theatre | 9-13 Aug
This is the first of three productions taking place at the Finborough Theatre this month by National Youth Theatre, and this one’s from award-nominated playwright James Fritz, and promises to be a funny, moving and candid look at young people’s relationships with the old that explores the scary process of ageing in a country undergoing a crisis of care. See the venue website here for more info on this and the other two upcoming shows.

The Lamellar Project | Arcola Theatre | 9-13 Aug
“Science fiction meets eco-activism in a gripping story of love and betrayal” apparently, which had me very much intrigued, I must confess, along with the discovery that this story is told via film, theatre and a live video link to the USA. This piece explores climate change and other problems which might potentially tear things apart. See this page here for more info.

Andrew Ashong | Battersea Arts Centre | 9 Aug (pictured)
Borderless is a live music series which “brings the festival feel to your doorstep” with artists from the UK as well as international musicians taking part. The first event from the strand to catch my eye was this one, courtesy Ghanaian-British artist Andrew Ashong, winner of track of the year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards in 2013, but there are loads of great acts appearing, so have a look at them all. See this page here for details.
