The Road That Wasn’t There | The Albany | 9-10 Jun
“In New Zealand, there are some 56,000 kilometres of paper roads – streets and towns that exist only on surveyors’ maps. Or do they? A young woman strays from the beaten track and finds herself in a paper world. FK Alexander is the creator of this performance art piece, described as “a meditation on the cruelty of love, the weight of loneliness, the gift of desperation, the freedom of anxiety, the chrysalis of hopelessness, and the power of dreams.” It’s part of the three day Splayed Festival, which is focused on questioning conventional ideas about femininity.
