ART: Pick Me Up, Somerset House, 24 Apr – 5 May
Britain’s original graphic arts fair – a maze of mini booths and spaces – showcases works from bargain grad illustration, to comic book, to big-name designs, and features on-site displays created especially for the event, informal talks and workshops. Details and tickets here.
FILM: Kinoteka Polish Film Festival, various locations, 24 Apr – 30 May (pictured)
As well as all the usual Q&As, new and classic films, live bands, animation, shorts and workshops, and a special series of events celebrating late cineaste Walerian Borowczyk, this year’s five-week Kinoteka fest reps the best in Polish art, music and cinema. It begins this evening with a gala screening of ‘Papusza’, Joanna Kos-Krauze’s black-and-white portrait of the first known Roma poetess, and a free-entry exhibition of posters by post-war graphic artist Henryk Tomaszewski. Details and tickets here.

Shapeshifting R&Beats man Jacques Greene primes his recently-released three track EP, ‘Phantom Vibrate’, with a hardware-heavy party at St-John-At-Hackney, co-habiting with hot Scots DJ Koreless on the bill. Details and tickets here.
