It’s a baptism of fire and brimstone for the Barbican’s two new hi-tech cinema screens, as a collective of cardinal film celebs are asked to choose a movie to match each of the Seven Deadly Sins. For instance while Sam Taylor-Wood will represent ‘envy’ via ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’, Kazuo Ishiguro illustrates ‘pride’ in ‘La Silence De La Mer’ and Richard Ayoade conveys ‘sloth’ in ‘The Graduate’.
