TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

Phil Nichol – Rants!, Udderbelly at Southbank Centre, 13 Apr (pictured)
This is just the cream of a full-fat carton of Udderbelly attractions going on tonight, but still, it’s a start. Hailed as an hour of haphazard hilarity at the last Fringe, zany Canadian comic Phil Nichol’s ‘Rant!’ is certainly worth taking in. Details and tickets here.

Rob Delaney, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, 13 Apr
Having taken Britain by storm when he stayed and played a while last year, ‘Twitter comic’ @RobDelaney is back again to make sides ache, this time in #reallife. Details and tickets here.

Funny Women present… Soozical, Leicester Square Theatre, 13 Apr
Musicals enthusiast Sooz Kempner adds pizazz to tales of her life  and times (aka the time she was in a room at the same time as Madonna, and other stories), by singing power-pop classics adapted to the occasion. Oh, and as an added extra, she has a great voice. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S THEATRE CHOICES

Beautiful Thing, Arts Theatre, 13 Apr – 25 May
First staged in 1993, Jonathan Harvey’s game-changing play about a pair of teenage boys finding inner-city love marks its china anniversary tonight at the Arts Theatre. Most famed amid its cast is ‘Scott And Bailey’ actress Suranne Jones, with whom Harvey collaborated as a writer on ‘Coronation Street’. Details and tickets here.
