If you sensed an extra gory or undead note to the tone of today, it’s because it is, in fact, World Zombie Day.
As such, the Leicester Square Theatre is housing a midnight screening of ‘Shaun Of The Dead’ as a means of ushering in Scream magazine’s 13th Hour Horror Festival, a fortnight of scare-ific cinema, theatre, spooky storytelling and comedy fright-nights that’s sure to be an absolute scream. Seriously.
And now, a reassuringly light look at the less macabre things going on in London anon…

Tony Law, Markus Birdman, Mark Dolan, Funmbi – Amused Moose Comedy Club, Moonlighting Soho, 13 Oct
Oh lore, it’s serial surrealist Tony Law being hilarious again, this time at the headlining apex of Amused Moose’s Saturday-nightly Comedy Club. England’s answer to Ashton Kutcher, ‘Balls Of Steel’ host Marc Dolan, also stars alongside an on-form Markus Birdman and Funmbi, plus a secret special guest “from television and about to go on tour who you will be so cross to have missed”. Reginald D Hunter – Live At The Chapel, Union Chapel, 13 Oct
The formidably funny Reginald D Hunter preaches chapter and verse as headline act at The Invisible Dot’s monthly Islington club night, with an additional bill still to be unveiled. Details and tickets here.

Azealia Banks’ Mermaid Ball, London Aquarium, 13 Oct (pictured)
Yeah… so Sam Cam’s rumoured favourite rapper Azealia Banks will throw the first ever British example of her ‘Mermaid Ball’ concert/costume gala at the London Aquarium, a not especially subtle concession to the party’s under-the-sea theme. As per Mermaid Ball tradition it should feature live sets by Banks and special guests, plus plenty of vogueing. City Showcase, various venues, 9-13 Oct

The BAC lays on a familial feast of ‘site-specific’ history, catering to all tastes with a good value menu at breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.
