Solange

As you’ll have realised in the bathroom this morning, on noticing that your flannel looked particularly pleased with itself, it’s Towel Day. But rather than throw it in, let’s embrace total toweldom via this newly laundered load of ultra-absorbent cultural sundries…

TODAY’S CABARET CHOICES

Miss Behave’s Social Club And Pleasure Aid, London Wonderground, 25 May/1 Jun
As sociable and erm… pleasurable as its banner title dictates, Olivier Awards darling Miss B’s strictly ‘illegitimate’ cabaret revel features Woody Bop Muddy’s Record Graveyard, Raymond & Mr Timpkins, Marawa the Amazing (‘Britain’s Got Talent’) and champagne flute-fuls of ‘madness, music and mirth’. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S FESTIVAL CHOICES

Field Day, Victoria Park, 25 May (pictured)
Field Day is one inner city park festival that won’t quit (not that we’d want it to), and features achingly ‘alt’ A-listers like Solange (pictured above), James Blake, SBTRKT, Wild Beasts and Jamie xx. And silly games, trendy street vittles, a bandstand and, probably, a ‘cool’ tombola. Details and tickets here.

We Are FSTVL, Damyns Hall Aerodrome, Essex, 25 May
Another 24-hour (or thereabouts) party vying for Londoners’ fest-affections today is dance and bass-based fringe rave We Are FSTVL, which has over 70 acts, ten stages, and nearly as many label showcases to its considerable credit. Stop by to hear live and DJ sets by Sven Vath, Cocoon Heroes, Martinez, Sascha Dive, Rudimental, Ricardo Villalobos and Mistajam. Details and tickets here.
