Millions and billions of Guy Fawkes-themed mega-spectaculars are still rocketing across London’s skyline tonight, even though I’m sure it was ‘the fifth of November’ that we were meant to remember. For health and safety’s sake, why not station the family at an official fireworks bash? Ealing Cricket Club is hosting a Golden Jubilee-themed burn-up featuring an Elizabeth II-replica guy (not really), whilst other Fawkesian infernos are being lit at Carshalton Park, Barnes Sports Club, Ravenscourt Park and Croydon Road Rec. So remember, remember all that.

The combination of Scott Capurro’s caustic Frisco camp, Stefano Paolini’s vari-voiced impersonations and Crack fave Tom Webb’s irrepressible chitchat makes for a well-proportioned triple bill at tonight’s Southbank-based show. Always a perfect family experience, the Barbican’s ‘Weekender’ festival connects digital and natural creativity via Tweet Poetry-writing sessions, a ‘lasercut forest’, beatbox t-shirt making classes, a ‘danceroom Spectroscopy’ space and other fanatastical mini-activities besides. All are designed to stimulate curious little minds, as is a double performance of opera composer Oliver Knussen’s ‘Where The World Things Are’ and ‘Higglety Pigglety Pop!’ featuring moving images and music by Ryan Wigglesworth and the Britten Sinfonia. Lot And His God, The Print Room, 3-24 Nov
With his high-profile opus ‘Scenes From An Execution’ playing at the National Theatre till 15 Nov, Howard Barker lends a new script to the Print Room’s industrial-style space. Barker’s dark and doomy adaptation of the biblical parable of Lot, ‘Lot And His God’ tracks a married couple and their “dangerous game of seduction, cruelty and desire”. Info via this page.
