Jessie Cave – Bookworm, Etcetera Theatre, 6 Oct (pictured)
Perhaps primarily known for playing Lavendar Brown in the ‘Harry Potter’ films series, avid reader Jessie Cave makes an auspicious solo show debut in her first comic foray ‘Bookworm’. Highly praised by ThreeWeeks at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, the whimsical Ms Cave and her PA/real-life sister Bebe script an original, prop-laden routine from Cave’s semi-fictitious character’s love of literary heroines. Noise Of Art – Magical Mystery Curiosity, Hackney Picturehouse, 6 Oct
Creative types Noise Of Art host a night of multi-arts psychedelia marking the 45th anniversary of The Beatles’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ film. In addition to a screening, the collective is curating three levels of music and dance by Justin Robertson, Fred Deakin (Lemon Jelly), Ashley Beedle, Ben Osborne, Si Begg, Rupert The Brewer, Overlap, The People Pile, Your Mum, Laura J Martin and many, many others besides. Theatre Movement Bazaar – Anton’s Uncles, Jackson’s Lane, 5-6 Oct
The usually LA-based Theatre Movement Bazaar, who were presented with an Outstanding Theatre Award by our friends at FringeReview at Edinburgh Fringe 2011, make a rare two-night cameo at Jackson’s Lane in Highgate. ‘Anton’s Uncles’ exploits the premise that, with the women in ‘Uncle Vanya’ absent, “only the men remain, wrestling with their desires”. A dynamic re-invigoration of the Chekhovian classic with the extra threat of “unconventional drinking and dancing”. Click here for performance particulars.

90 of Lambeth’s artists, sculptors, illustrators and artisans invite the public to browse their studios, gallery spaces and sacred craft caves as part of a borough-wide open weekend. Jess Pearson and still-life specialist Serena Rowe share new canvases, while Priscilla Watkins shows her meticulous oil paintings of swimmers at Brockwell Park Lido.
