So, ‘Family Guy’ man Seth MacFarlane is hosting the 85th Academy Awards – that’s the Oscars, to you and I – tonight, and I personally can’t wait. ‘Lincoln’, ‘Life Of Pi’ or ‘Les Miserables’, which letter ‘L’-titled film shall win the jury’s hearts? Or will it be ‘Silver Linings Playbook’? I really, really pray it won’t.
Anyway, moving away from LA and back to the ‘real world’ for a while, look at this list of London’s cultural silver linings… part Oscars-relevant…

London collective EKO cherry-picks artists to adorn this one-off audiovisual night, as makes a fitting finale to this year’s Roundhouse Rising Festival. Noirish Mancs PINS, ‘junk jazz’ band Drop Out Venus, hypno-pop soloist Female Band and Nick Cave-like songwriter John J Presley will all play live against backing visuals by Eyes On The Wall.
