TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

Andy Zaltzman’s Political Animal, Udderbelly Southbank, 25 Apr
Another comic treat milked from the Udderbelly’s life-giving teat, now, as 2011’s ThreeWeeks-rated ‘Armchair Revolutionary’ Andy Zaltzman rises again a ‘Political Animal’ to satirise, harangue and cajole everything in sight. Details and tickets here.

Trawler, Kings Place, 25 Apr
The gang at Off With Their Heads! fish a catch of three celebrity ‘Trawlers’, who’ll dip into “the ocean of gwar that is the internet” and show their visual findings. So basically, it’s a whimsical clip show hosted by Mr Harry Deansway. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S FILM CHOICES

Sundance London, The O2, 25-28 Apr (pictured)
Only a read of this PDF timetable can do any kind of justice to all that’s going on at this year’s Sundance London, a four-day parade of independent film, live music, talks and PAs by the rich and famous. Steve Coogan’s soft porn-o-rama ‘The Look Of Love’ (that’s a still of it above), Jeff Nichols’ Matt McConaughey renaissance ‘Mud’, quaint dairy doc ‘The Moo Man’ and ‘Fuck The Pain Away’ hitmaker Peaches’ crazy new rock opera, ‘Peaches Does Herself’, are just several of the shiny cinematic rays it’s giving off this year. Details and tickets here.
