Fallulah

It’s Weed Appreciation Day… and no, I don’t mean that kind (you’ll have to wait till 20 Apr to ‘celebrate’ that kind of thing) this is all about dandelion, burdoch, nettles and the like. Anyway, have a look at the delicate cultural wildflowers London has springing from the cracks in its pavements today…

TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

Andrew Bird, Scruffy Kafuffle, Soho Theatre, 28 Mar
As much of a natural live as he is when scripting Jimmy Carr’s ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’ gags; the easy, breezy, and disorganised Andrew Bird moves past his “half-remembered” Edinburgh Fringe show tonight at the Soho. Details and tickets here.

Chris Addison – The Time Is Now, Again, Queen Elizabeth Hall, 28 Mar
Chris Addison reprises the show he first played all the way back in February, re-emphasising time’s immediacy, again. “You should come and see him”, we are assured. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S FILM CHOICES

ROH Live presents… The Adventures Of Alice In Wonderland, various cinemas, 28 Mar
The Royal Opera House’s ‘Live’ cinema mixed bag spills an extra treat tonight in the shape of Christopher Wheeldon’s candy-cane ‘Alice’ menagerie. The ballet will be screened, as if by Carrollian magic, at the same time as it plays at the Covent Garden ROH. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S MUSIC CHOICES

Ja Ja Ja presents… Fallulah, The Lexington, 28 Mar (pictured)
London can carry on its love affair with all-things Nordic and sonic tonight, because Scandinavia-specialising promotions co Ja Ja Jais  another night at The Lexington. The show’s star attraction is Fallulah (pictured above), aka Danish alt-popstar Maria Apetri, whilst Iceland’s Pascal Pinon and fine Finnish band Delay Trees will also play live. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S THEATRE CHOICES

A Doll’s House, Young Vic, 28 Mar – 20 Apr
In case anyone failed to catch it when it first played at the Young Vic back in 2012, Olivier-winning Simon Stephens’ take on Ibsen’s barbed social satire plays again, with the same acclaimed cast, set and scenery. Details and tickets here.
