Paul F Tompkins – Crying And Driving, Soho Theatre, 2-13 Apr
Rapier-brained and sharply-clad American comic Paul F Tompkins, something of a debutante on the British scene, shares tall tales of “haunting one’s own house, disastrous attempts at pretend fatherhood, carrying a learner’s permit to kill, and marrying a woman who used a fine-print loophole to breach a castle”. Project Colony, Trinity Buoy Wharf, 2-27 Apr
The indelibly imaginative Fourth Monkey devises an immersive, site-specific spin on Franz Kafka’s ‘In The Penal Colony’. Assembling at the Wharf, the audience is taken to the island colony to experience it on “both sides of the coin”. Details and tickets here.
The Trial, Shoreditch Town Hall/Rose Lipman Building, 2- 27 Apr
With its first part already playing at Shoreditch Town Hall, tonight is the first time the latter half of avant garde dramatists RETZ’ arresting take on Kafka’s ‘The Trial’ is available to view, live.
