Of all the days in all the world, it had to be Pig In A Blanket Day. As in the sausage and bacon-based party snack sense, rather than the ‘swine in a duvet’ one.

So anyway, in porcine homage to this most evocative of dates, we’ve made this meaty, treaty parcel of London’s tastiest cultural appetisers. And that’s no porky pie…

TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

Laugh Till It Hurts presents… Isy Suttie/Michael Mittermeier/Felix Dexter, Bloomsbury Theatre, 24 Apr
Held in aid of cancer charity Macmillan, this altruistic stand-up night stars the incomparable Isy Suttie, errant German Michael Mittermeier, consummate comic pro Felix Dexter, and newer stars of the circuit Josh Widdicombe and Suzi Ruffell. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S MUSIC CHOICES

Red Snapper: Touki Bouki, Queen Elizabeth Hall, 24 Apr
One to cross off the bucket list, this, as internationally-acclaimed Afro-jazz band Red Snapper play a shady original live score to a showing of Senegalese cineaste Djibril Diop Mambéty’s 1973 film ‘Touki Bouki’, as has been painstakingly reconditioned by Martin Scorsese’s Word Cinema Foundation. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S THEATRE CHOICES

Peter Michael Marino – Desperately Seeking The Exit, Leicester Square Theatre, 24 Apr – 19 May
Having created a stage adaptation of 1980s film romp ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ only to watch it bomb back in 2007, American writer and born drama-raconteur Peter Michael Marino takes the failed show apart in a smart, witty and self-deprecating skit. “Audiences won’t be desperately seeking the exit anytime soon”, said ThreeWeeks. Details and tickets here.
