DANCE: Boy Blue Entertainment – The Five & The Prophecy Of Prana, Barbican, 22 Oct – 2 Nov
Japanese Manga artist Akio Tanaka drafts an innovative collaboration with the makers of Olivier award-winning 2007 show ‘Pied Piper’, creating a kind of moving comic strip combining hip hop, martial arts, and the narrative of five young hooligans and a karate grand master, who moonlights, as one does, as the boss of a secret peace corps. DANCE: BLAM!, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, 22 Oct – 16 Nov
A real stealth hit at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe, physical theatricals Neander’s ThreeWeeks-rated ‘BLAM!’ finds a band of weary 9-5ers inventing an imaginary game-land peopled by aliens, heroes and cartoon villains. FILM: Oval Space Cinema Club presents Berberian Sound Studio, Oval Space, 23 Oct
This Peter Strickland-directed, Broadcast-scored movie, which was first sighted earlier this year, stars actor Toby Jones as a foley engineer. Commissioned to score a gory exploitation film titled ‘The Equestian Vortex’, he soon spirals into witchcraft, sexual intrigue and psychological chaos. Details and tickets here.
