And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

CHILDREN’S SHOWS: Roald Dahl’s The Twits | Royal Court Theatre | 7 Apr – 31 May
One of the most-loved of Roald Dahl’s much-loved children’s stories, ‘The Twits’ comes to the stage courtesy of an adaptation by Edna Walsh. They’re nasty to each other, and worse to everyone else. Especially their pet monkeys, who have a plan for revenge. Details and tickets here.

COMEDY: Comedian’s Comedian Podcast – Des Bishop | Soho Theatre | 7 Apr (pictured)
So, here’s an exciting thing. Tonight marks the first of four monthly live recordings of Comedian’s Comedian – one of the very finest podcasts that the internet has to offer. Stand-up Stuart Goldsmith will interview a fellow comic on how they work, what makes them do it and (probably) if they’re happy. Tonight, Des Bishop. Details and tickets here.

THEATRE/FILM: Taking A Stand Season | Battersea Arts Centre | 7 Apr – 23 May
Running either side of the looming General Election, this season at the Battersea Arts Centre collects together a ranging of politically-themed shows and events. Among those contained within the full run are not one but two Mark Thomas shows, a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s ‘The Great Dictator’ and a 1941 short film about a Hull cinema that was bombed just as it was about to show it, and a performance that “combines sludge and doom metal with the Budget speech 2015”. Details and tickets here.
