TODAY IN LONDON sharp-tongued magic man Jerry Sadowitz, South African pop artist Petite Noir, and a script by esteemed French screenwriter Jean-Claude Carriere all feature in the following TW-recommended events…
MAGIC: Jerry Sadowitz, Leicester Square Theatre, 18 Dec – 18 Jan 2014
Mad-eyed magician/comedian Jerry Sadowitz lays on a little close-up (made possible by a big screen) card-handling skills, shuffling in a round of livid stand-up too. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Petite Noir, The King’s Head Members Club, 18 Dec
South African musician Yannick Ilunga can do dark, angst-laden pop like no other. Having released singles ‘Till We Ghosts’ and ‘Noirse’, and with his first LP on the way via a new deal with spot-on label Domino, this is probably one of the last times he’ll play a show as small as tonight’s Bad Life birthday party. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: Little Black Book, Park Theatre, 18 Dec – 19 Jan 2014
Esteemed screenwriter Jean-Claude Carriere, who scripted some of Luis Buñuel’s finest films, delivers this ‘very French’ love story in which a man leaves his apartment door ajar, only for a strange woman to come in with a suitcase. Only in France. Details and tickets here.
