Written by leading lady playwright Mary Pix all the way back in 1700, witty class satire ‘The Beau Defeated’ hinges on widow (and avid social climber) Mrs Rich, who aspires to move in ‘court circles’. Details and tickets here.

This re-telling of Shakespeare’s silly tale of enchantment, in which Viola and Sebastian get into many a strange and decadent comic scrape, features a live harpist and opera singers.
