And the LDN-based events ThisWeek is tipping today are….
MUSIC: Bo Ningen, Heaven, 7 May
Always a hit with the longhaired London crowd, Japan’s LDN-based acid-psych-lords Bo Ningen play live on the eve of their still-TBA third LP’s still-secret May release date. Hear its lead single ‘DaDaDa’ for hints as to what that’ll be like. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: Bring Up The Bodies, Aldwych Theatre, 7 May – 6 Sep (pictured)
The follow-on to ‘Wolf Hall’, which is also playing at the Aldwych right now, the RSC’s adaptation of ‘Bring Up The Bodies’ is based on author Hilary Mantel’s bloody Booker Prize-winning history-of-Thomas-Cromwell, as in the minister to the court of King Henry VIII, in which love, passion and politics abound. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE/COMEDY: Waiting For Godot, Arcola Theatre, 7 May – 14 Jun
Natty 2-pronged Tom attack Totally Tom, aka comic Toms Palmer and Stourton, re-enact Beckett’s anticipatory tragi-com of 1953, playing a pair of highway drifters shooting the shit, and biding time til the shadowy Godot arrives. Details and tickets here.
