Cult American theatrical hit 'MilkMilkLemonade' makes its UK debut at Ovalhouse this month. This particular production has been directed by one of the venue's two artistic directors, Rebecca Atkinson-Lord. I sent some questions over to Rebecca, to find out more about the play, the playwright Joshua Conkel, and what else is coming up at Ovalhouse. You can read the interview here.

THEATRE: The Cherry Orchard | Young Vic | 10 Oct – 29 Nov Scripted by 'Curious Incident' playwright Simon Stephens and directed by fearless theatre-maker Katie Mitchell, this production of Anthon Chekhov's final play 'The Cherry Orchard' is apparently, or so its billing exclaims, a 'vigorous and profound' English-spoken take on the 1904 original, a poignant love-note to a world in violent transition. FESTIVAL: London Horror Festival | Etcetera Theatre | 13-31 Oct So, it's the most spookiest time of the year, and what festival so apt to celebrate that fact as the Etcetera's frighteningly brill blood-nanza of theatre and 'live arts'; which features the all-female Dante/Bard megamix 'Shakespeare In Hell', an arch dramatisation of 'Gentlemen Of Horror' Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing's real life and on-cam relationship, haunting one-woman play 'Greywing House', and an additional clot of cabaret, magic, and hammer-style silliness. ART: ICA Off-Site | The Old Selfridges Hotel | 14-18 Oct Team ICA check into the listed Old Selfridges Hotel for a week of free-entry events, designed to coincide with this year's Frieze London art fair. Brooklyn-based dancer and curator Isabel Lewis kicks things off with a sequence of dance 'occasions' modelled on the drinking/love-making/philsophising symposiums of ancient Greece; with latter ICA link-ins with online-only alt station NTS Radio, the Siobhan Davies Dance co, NYC art man Korakrit Arunanondchai culminating in a 'summit' on contemporary art and 'the politics of digital dirculation'. ART: Rembrandt – The Late Works | National Gallery | 15 Oct – 18 Jan 2015 The rather disastrous autumn years of Dutch artist Rembrandt's life are the focal point of this seasonal major show, which traces his increasingly radical and expressive style in an array of bold and self-examining paintings and prints, most emblematic of all his warts-and-all 'Self Portrait At The Age Of 63', which was finished in the final year of his life. ART/EXHIBITION: Anarchy And Beauty – William Morris And His Legacy | National Portrait Gallery | 16 Oct – 11 Jan 2015 (pictured) Victorian artist, craftsman, writer and all-over visionary radical William Morris, him of printed floral wallpaper fame, is paid homage to in a spotlit showcase of his portraits, furniture, textiles, homeware and personal paraphernalia – many pieces of which are on display for the first time in all of time. Arranged alongside his work are bits n bobs by his contemporaries Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Edward Burne-Jones; plus a horde of books, jewellery, ceramics and clothing by Morris inspirees like Eric Gill, Terence Conran and Bernard Leach. COMEDY: Stuart Laws – When's This Gonna Stop | Hen & Chickens Theatre | 16 Oct Oi, it's ya boy, the spontaneous and slightly unhinged Stuart Laws, who in his Edinburgh-Fringe-reprising solo show 'When's This Gonna Stop' will toy with topics like catchphrases, gibbons, Billy Joel, spiders and 'Donnie Darko'. DANCE: Rocío Molina – Bosque Andora | Barbican | 16-18 Oct Skirt-tossing first-lady-of-flamenco Rocío Molina choreographs and stars in this dance based around the 'animal' instinct for survival, as a cast of two male dancers and six musicians accompany Molina in a whirl of drama, sound looping and, of course, some moving; all with a crisp and distinctly non-'trad' aesthetic.
