And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…
MUSIC: Clean Bandit | Alexandra Palace | 13 Mar (pictured)
Clean Bandit bring a UK tour to a close with a headline show at Alexandra Palace, featuring support from Jess Glynne and MNEK. Which, I hope you’ll agree, is quite a line-up. Clean Bandit’s ascent has been pretty rapid since releasing their top five debut album, ‘New Eyes’, last year, and they look set to keep growing, so they may not be around playing venues even this size for long. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: Dalloway | Greenwich Theatre | 12-14 Mar
Adapted from Virginia Woolf’s 1925 novel ‘Mrs Dalloway’ by writer and director Elton Townend Jones, and performed by Rebecca Vaughan, we find the titular character preparing for a party in Westminster and giving us a feminine response to the aftermath of the First World War. Details and tickets here.
WORDS & EVENTS/MUSIC: In conversation with David Vorhaus and Bernard Szajner + White Noise live performance | Rough Trade East + The Social | 13 Mar
Electronic pioneers David Vorhaus and Bernard Szajner come together for an on-stage interview with The Wire’s Jennifer Lucy Allan. Szajner released his debut album as Z in 1979, while a full decade earlier Vorhaus release the first White Noise album, a collaboration with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson and a pivotal moment in the history of electronic music. You’ll be able to hear that with modern ears later when the current line-up of White Noise perform at The Social. Details and tickets here and here.
