ThisWeek’s tipped events TODAY IN LONDON feature a fun night at the museum, a Big Red makeshift cinema, and a birthday party celebrating the first ever synths…

COMEDY: Fancy Meeting You Here – A Roving Comedy Tour, British Museum/Tate Modern, 25-26 Apr
On a valiant mission to make London’s cultural/historical landmarks more ‘fun’, NYC-based comics Carl Arnheiter and Dave Hill (plus guests like Josie Long, John Kand Maeve Higgins) will be giving guided tours around the British Museum (tonight) and the Tate Modern (tomorrow), pulling improv humour – and the odd bit of wisdom – from the most serious exhibits. Show up in the Brit Museum’s lobby at 7pm to join in. Details here.

FILM: New Cross & Deptford Free Film Festival, various locations, 25 Apr – 4 May (pictured)
Criss-crossing a host of galleries, eateries, shops, schools and pubs, 2014’s NXDFFF launches tonight at Deptford’s Big Red Pizzeria bus, and a look at ‘Supermen Of Malegaon’, Faiza Ahmad Khan’s heartfelt 2012 film. Over the next week the itinerary features big-screen and mainstream movies, kids’ favourites, classic and contemporary docs, and a pair of bike-powered playbacks of ‘Attack The Block’ and ‘Grease’ in local parks. Details here.

MUSIC: Booka Shade, Village Underground, 25 Apr
A facet of this year’s arts-meets-tech fest Convergence, tonight’s Noise Of Art-hosted showcase stars popular kraut-haus boys Booka Shade, and signals 100 years since Italian Futurist Luigi Russolo first trial-ran his prototype synthesisers at the world’s first official electro show. Details and tickets here.
