And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are…

FILM: Life Of Pi | The Scoop | 5 Sep
A tiny drop in the ocean of films that More London is screening for free every Wednesday this month, it’s Ang Lee’s big-screen fantasy-at-sea ‘Life Of Pi’, a painstakingly-made cinematic dreamscape based on Yann Martel’s ‘boy on boat with live tiger’-based best-seller novel of the same name. Seats are limited, so arrive early. Details here.

MUSIC: Late Night Prom w/ Paloma Faith | Royal Albert Hall | 5 Sep (pictured)
Fresh-faced and copper-coiffed singer-of-song Paloma Faith fronts a 42-man jazz orchestra atop this Late Night BBC Prom. She’ll be joining with the elite Urban Voices Collective in a collation of hits off of her latest LP, ‘A Perfect Contradiction’, and its platinum-selling prequels, ‘Fall To Grace’ and ‘Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?’. Details and tickets here.

VISUAL ART: Inner City Ooz | Display Gallery | 5-27 Sep
Oft-roaring jazz-pop boy King Krule, real name Archy Marshall, shows some of his and his brother’s art works, banner-titled ‘Inner City Ooz’. In short, it’s an installation based on the pair’s reactions to ‘motifs’ like memory, time and the role of the artist in a changing cityscape, and will feature a mix of large-scale abstract pieces featuring Archy’s poetry and ‘layers of paint’ by Jack, plus illustrations, drawings and photographs. In the downstairs place, the Marshall Bros will create a “secluded, fictional environment” of soundscapes, compositions and live interactive performance made to “vibrate the viewer”. Details here.
