And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…
CHILDREN’S SHOW: Ali McGregor’s Jazzamatazz | London Wonderground | 11-19 Jul
An afternoon of upbeat jazz just for kids (and their parents) led by singer Ali McGregor. “An absolutely delightful way to spend an afternoon, whatever your age”, said ThreeWeeks. Read more about the show in this TWL interview. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Brendon Burns | Udderbelly | 11 Jul
Taking a break from his ‘Out The Box’ tour, which has seen him play fans’ kitchens, the basement of Shoreditch’s cereal cafe, a zoo and more, Brendon Burns tonight returns to a comparatively traditional comedy venue (it’s still an upside down purple cow though). As well as knowing a lot about staging comedy in unlikely places, he is also very funny. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE: Bryony Kimmings & Tim Grayburn – Fake It Til You Make It | Queen Elizabeth Hall | 10-18 Jul (pictured)
ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award winner Bryony Kimmings discovered six month into her relationship with advertising account manager Tim Grayburn that he had been keeping a diagnosis of severe clinical depression from her. Together in this show they explore the biggest killer of young men in the UK with “homemade music, stupid dancing, onstage arguments, real-life stories, tears and truths”. Details and tickets here.
