And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…
COMEDY: Live At The Chapel With Tim Key | Union Chapel | 11 Oct (pictured)
Daft comic laureate Tim Key headlines this latest Live At The Chapel extravaganza, bringing to the altar his idiosyncratic poetic style. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC/FESTIVAL: Hackney Wonderland | various locations | 11 Oct
An indie-rock all-dayer – the likes of which hasn’t been seen in the East End since the zenith of, say, articulate pop auteurs Art Brut and Tyne-And-Wear-based tykes Little Comets – Hackney Wonderland takes over a three mile strip of the E8 district to present live sets by the likes of chance headliners Art Brut and Little Comets, and Crocodiles, O Children, The Oscillation and Babyshambles man Drew McConnell. Details and tickets here.
THEATRE/SPOKEN WORD: Fuel – Phenomenal People | Camden People’s Theatre | 11-12 Oct
A series of speeches and performed pieces set in a special inside garden, ‘Phenomenal People’ will feature ladies-in-the-arts like Jenny Sealey (who created the 2012 Paralympics opening ceremony), stand-up Rachel Mars and designer Sophia Clist celebrating the women who inspire them the most. The show is a part of the CPT’s excellent ‘Calm Down, Dear’ festival of feminism. Details and tickets here.
