TODAY IN LONDON, TW’s tipped events feature arid-witted stand-up Paul Sinha, history-loving comic Iszi Lawrence and pocket-sized pop poster child Lil Chris…
COMEDY: The Deceased Comedian’s Ball, The Bedford, 12 Jan
Held in memory of comic Ed Rikard Bell, who died earlier this year of a brain tumour, this line-up at this live Bedford benefit includes sharp-tongued stand-up Paul Sinha, ‘Him & Her’ weirdy beardy Joe Wilkinson, Diane Morgan, Stefano Paolini and Suzy Bennett, with ticket proceeds going to the Neurosciences Research Foundation. Details and tickets here.
COMEDY: Z List Dead List, The Camden Head, 12 Jan
Curious comic mind Iszi Lawrence dips into history’s Z-files, bringing out a forgotten figure – an underdog, if you will – and reminding the world he/she/it ever existed. Lawrence taps experts like ‘Qi Elf’ Steyvn Colgan, folklore boff Deborah Hyde, plus comedic peers Paul Ricketts and Elf Lyons. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Lil Chris-tmas Tour, Heaven, 12 Jan (pictured)
Having clipped on his ‘tmas’, tiny pop sensation Lil Chris is ready to ride his rockin sleigh all the way to Heaven (in Charing Cross), albeit a bit belatedly. His greatest hits set will be backed by the appealing stylings of Tom Mann and Giles Potter. Details and tickets here.
