And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Mirrors | Camden People’s Theatre | 16 Sep
Just one chance to see ‘Mirrors’, to be staged as part of Camden People’s Theatre’s Calm Down Dear Festival. Crikey, that’s a mouthful, isn’t it? Don’t try reading aloud. Do, however, go and see this show, a solo piece from Siobhan MacMillan, which explores the experiences of the modern woman via characters, story-telling and comedy. See more info and sort tickets here.

Octagon | Arcola Theatre | 16 Sep-17 Oct
One of my favourite Fringe theatre producing companies Supporting Wall is behind this production of ‘Octagon’ by US performance poet, playwright and activist Kristiana Rae Colón. The play, which focuses on a group of slam poets, is directed by Nadia Latif, who first came into contact with Colón back in 2008 and directed their first collaboration ‘but i cd only whisper’. I really, really want to see this. More info and tickets right here.

Greenwich Comedy Festival | National Maritime Museum | 16-20 Oct
Whoop de doo, is it that time again? Yes, I can confirm that it is, so you can all look forward to five days of fabulous comedy acts to get your teeth into. Well, not literally, obviously. I don’t think they would appreciate that. Anyway, some real TW favourites are on the line-up, and I don’t think they would mind me mentioning a few names: the likes of Mark Steel, Joe Lycett, Felicity Ward, Bridget Christie, Adam Buxton, Nish Kumar, Luisa Omielan, Kevin Eldon, James Acaster, Tim Key and Mark Thomas. They’ve even thrown in a couple of TW Editors’ Award winners, there, with the fabulous Andrew Maxwell and the marvellous John Robins (pictured). Lots of info on these, and the many other fabulous acts, here.
