How To Survive A Post Truth Apocalypse | Battersea Arts Centre | 17-19 May
The brilliant Francesca Beard returns with a show we talked about when she performed it as part of Roundhouse’s Last Word spoken word festival in 2017. The show – as you might expect – is about the post-truth world we are living in, in which people in authority don’t hesitate to lie, but also the wider ways in which untruths are used – from political spin to polite fibs. Jack O Kent | Ovalhouse | 17-19 May
This looks interesting: a new and visual adaptation of Ibsen’s ‘Peer Gynt’, using 3D projection and storytelling to recreate the characters of Norwegian folklore. The blurb promises “a world of lavish fantasy, morality and humanity in which Jack attempts to discover what is real and what is not”, and features a cast of deaf and hearing actors using British Sign Language and Visual Vernacular performance.
